Stanley Park, Vancouver’s first park, is one of Vancouver’s best tourist attractions. Bordering the downtown of Vancouver to the West, everything about Stanley Park is impressive from it’s breathtaking beauty, it’s size (400 hectares), it’s beaches, it’s seawall, it’s nature and it’s history.
Stanley Park is a natural beauty. It is covered with a large stand of evergreen trees, it has a large lagoon – called Lost Lagoon with a spectacular water fountain, a lake called Beaver Lake, it has outstanding beaches including the popular 2nd beach (with a large outdoor saltwater pool) and 3rd beach with a large stretch of sand, hundreds of trails, open grassy areas for concerts, theatre events, movie screenings and sports like cricket, tennis courts, pitch and putt, lawn bowling and vistas for lookouts like Brockton Point which looks out to West Vancouver, English Bay and Vancouver Island in the distance.
The Vancouver Aquarium, a spectacular Vancouver attraction on it’s own is located in Stanley Park.
Stanley Park has several restaurants where you can dine after enjoying a walk or bike ride in the park.
There is something for everyone in Stanley Park. Whether you are a naturalist, a jogger, biker, roller blader, tennis player, golfer or simply want to relax under a tree or hang out on the beach you will be surrounded by serenity, beauty and nature.
