Vancouver Rowing Club

The Vancouver Rowing Club is a non-profit, multi-sport, amateur athletic club  located in Stanley Park adjacent to Coal Harbour. The Vancouver Rowing Club is Vancouver’s oldest private club.

The Vancouver Rowing Club (VRC) is not only a rowing club but they also have teams in rugby, field hockey and yachting. VRC has been developing world class rowers for many years a few who have gone on to compete in the Summer Olympics. 

VRC offers social memberships to walkers, joggers and runners who enjoy the trails and seawall just steps from our clubhouse in Stanley Park.

The weight room, showers and lounges are available to all members.

Biking in Stanley Park

Biking in Stanley Park is a very popular thing to do. What better way to see the third largest urban park in North America.

Stanley Park has a Seawall that cyclists can go around along the waterfront. It takes about 1-2 hours to go around the park on bike.

You have to travel in one direction counter clockwise.

It’s easy to rent a bike if you are visting Vancouver and didn’t bring one with you. There are many bike rental shops located on Denman Street near Georgia Street which is practically bordering the park. Two of the biggest bike rental shops are Spokes and Bayshore Bike Rentals.

Stanley Park Pitch and Putt

Stanley Park has a Pitch and Putt. Phone number is 604-681-8847. Open from 8am-Dusk daily in the summer. Golf Club rentals have to be returned by 6:30pm. If you want to get a discount go for the twilight golf (1 hour before sunset). It is $11.00 (2011 prices).

Bookings can be made up to one week in advance, on the hour or half hour. Pay at the Pro Shop prior to your court time.

Bookings will be automatically cancelled if wet.

Stanley Park Tennis


There are 21 tennis courts in Stanley Park. 17 tennis courts grouped together near the entrance to Stanley Park near English Bay. 6 of these courts are Pay Tennis courts and can be booked in advance by the public. The other 11 courts are first come first serve.

You can book a Pay Tennis court by calling the court reservation line at 604-605-8224 or you can book in person by visiting the Stanley Park tennis pro shop located beneath The Fish House Restaurant. Tennis lessons are also offered by two certified tennis coaches.

For several weeks in July the Stanley Park Tennis Tournament books all the courts to run their tournament. This tournament attracts thousands of entries for different events. The junior and senior events are ITF sanctioned and players can receive ITF ranking points to establish a world ranking. For information about the annual Stanley Park Tennis Tournament go to www.TennisBC.org .

There are 4 more courts adjacent to Lost Lagoon. The Lost Lagoon courts are more private because they have fences around every court, but the courts have been re-surfaced for a while.

Stanley Park Tennis Club

There is a tennis club in Stanley Park.  The Stanley Park Tennis Club occupies the last three tennis courts (15,16,17), Tuesday and Friday evenings, May to September. A fourth pay court is sometimes rented. The club also participates in the city leagues.
